Controlled Drainage & Irrigation Website

Background

In the last 60 years the algal bloom and eutrophication have become serious problems in the Baltic Sea. Arable land plays an important role in this process, is however not the only one. Farms are one of the sources of pollution of excessive nutrients.

As "source responsibility" claims farmers should do their part to come up with technique to reduce their negative impact on creeks, lakes and sea.

When technique becomes proven to be effective it needs to be implemented in full scale.

The suggested technique herein (Controlled Drainage & Irrigation) is one way to go.
